Friday Period 2

Morning bloggers,

From now on, every Friday period 2 will be devoted to blogging. This means that you need to publish a new post every Friday. You get one whole period to do this which is more than enough. If you don't finish, you will be expected to do it for homework.

The best part is you can write about anything you want. The only rule is that you write it in the form of a diary entry, from your point of view. Some examples of this could be: what you got up to on the weekend, what you think of the Cats chances of winning the premiership, what you did last period in LOTE, how you think your humanities presentation went, what you ate for dinner last night.

Remember to include every single little detail. Details are important. Also, don't forget about simile and meaty, imaginative words. Grammar is not as important on the blog as it is in your formal English writing, so don't worry too much about it.

Blog content

Welcome back 7RW. I hope you had a great holiday and are ready to get to work!

This is what should be on your blog already:

English: 1. What burns inside (this will be written as a comment on my blog)
2. Favourite food story

Humanities: 1. Blackbird Cruise story
2. Google Earth questions

Everyone should have commented at least once on the favourite food story and the Blackbird cruise story.

Finally, make sure that you have everyone in the class added to your blog. Follow the instructions of how to do this on my previous blog post.

Blog titles

Make sure you join each and every one of your fellow classmates blogs. To do this you need to click on the orange 'add' button in your dashboard and type the address in the box. Each address must be followed by .blogspot.com. For example, to get on to Son-Binh's blog, type in isoultrance.blogspot.com. Here is the list of blog titles that I have. If you are not on here, you need to let me know.

Well Done 7RW. Everyone in the class is now a member of the 7Rw blog and most have posted their first piece of writing titled, 'What Burns Inside'. There were some excellent stories written, with my personal favourite being a piece by Tasty Tas about a murderous orange juice blog that took over the world!

Some people didn't achieve the required word length of 150 words. If this was you, you must add another post that has 'part 2' written at the top. There is also a very small number of people who haven't added anything. Some of these people have had some problems with passwords. If so, I don't mind if you hand write this piece of writing in your book so that you're up to date.

I was very pleased to see Arnold posted a comment on Billy's work. He gave some outstanding advice and I hope Billy takes this on board. Make sure you all post a comment on one classmates stories soon.

Our next task is to edit our profiles. Once we have done that, I want everyone to start their own personal blog. You can name it anything you want but must include 7RW somewhere in the name. We will go through this in class next week.

Stay tuned and blog on!
Ryan

Welcome students of 7Rw!

Dear 7RW student,

One of your tasks for both English and Humanities this year will be to contribute to our class blog. You will be asked to write one paragraph (or more) about a variety of topics every week. I'll be checking all of your posts every Friday and maybe even making a comment on some. You will be expected to make a comment on one of your classmates posts each week too. This may only be a couple of sentences though.

Stay tuned for the first topic and happy blogging!

Ryan
